Privacy

What is collected when you read this site, and what is not.

The short version

There are no accounts, no comments, no newsletter, and no advertising network on this site. Nothing here asks you for your name or your email address, and nothing stores a cookie or a local-storage entry in your browser.

That is why there is no consent banner. A banner exists to obtain permission for tracking; there is no tracking here to permit.

What is measured

Page views and performance timings are measured in aggregate by Vercel Analytics and Vercel Speed Insights, which run on the hosting platform this site is served from. They record the page, the referring site, the country, and the device class, without cookies and without an identifier that follows you between visits or between sites.

The web server keeps ordinary request logs — IP address, time, path, user agent — for a short period, as any server does, to serve the page and to spot abuse.

Third parties your browser contacts

One. The photograph on an article is loaded from the publication the story summarises, so that publication's image host sees the request. Those requests carry referrerPolicy="no-referrer", so the host is not told which page you were reading. Typefaces are served from this domain, not from Google Fonts.

If you would rather that did not happen either, a content blocker will stop it and the site remains readable without the photographs.

Your requests

There is no profile here to export or delete. No account exists, no advertising identifier is set and nothing follows a reader between pages, so there is nothing held about anyone to hand over or erase.

This page describes the site as it is built today. If measurement or third parties ever change, this page changes with them — it is generated from the same codebase that renders the articles, not maintained separately.
